The most prevalent 9mm cartridge is the 9×19 Parabellum. This is the world’s most popular and widely used handgun cartridge. It is probably used by a majority of police forces and is used by most militaries around the world, if you want to practice your functional shooting skills then the 9mm is the right choice for you.

The 9×19mm Parabellum (abbreviated 9mm, 9mmP, 9×19mm or 9×19) cartridge was unleashed by Georg Luger in 1902 by Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) for their Luger semi-automatic pistol in Germany.

It combines a level trajectory with a moderate recoil to be the most effective all-round bullet.  This is a standard cartridge for NATO forces as well as many non-NATO countries. It is lethal at 50 meters as designed, but it has proven itself an accurate firearm at further distances.
